The organization was founded in 1993 by Denise L. Folks,Ph.D. for the purpose of providing comprehensive formal and informal educational services for the entire family. In 2000, Positive Youth Expressions, Incorporated began offering outreach services to adult family members in the area of supportive housing and counseling.
